Religious Education

Pre-School through Grade Eight

The Religious Education of our children is something that we take very seriously here at St. Peter's. Whatever form that education might take (Sunday morning Religious Education Classes (CCD) here at the Church or attendance at Butler Catholic School), we do all that we can to make sure that it is the best that it can be,

In the Rite of Baptism of Children, there is a Blessing over the Parents that reminds them: You shall be the first teachers of your children in the ways of faith. We believe this to be true, so that all that we do here is to enhance what you are already doing at home, the "domestic church."

Sunday morning classes are held beginning in September and running through the end of April. Classes begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at 10:35 a.m. Parents are encouraged to be a part of the classes and to continue their own education. The family that learns together, grows together.

The celebration of First Reconciliation and First Communion are held during the Second Year. Attendance at class for both the first and second grades are critical for your children to be properly prepared for these great events in their lives. Please take this responsibility seriously. We do!

Confirmation is in the eighth year of the Student's CCD journey. There are Parent Conferences that the parents must attend as well as a Confirmation Retreat held shortly before Confirmation. Dates are listed in the weekly Parish bulletin.
